The Barstool Fund Steps In to Help Phil’s Pizza in Syosset

The Barstool Fund, which has helped many small businesses across the country, stepped in once again on Long Island — this time to support Phil’s Pizza in Syosset.

Phil’s owner, Anthony Laurino, said bills had been mounting, but he was committed to keeping his staff working despite the financial strain.

A Call That Changed Everything

Laurino said he received a call from Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who told him the fund would be helping his business.

“He told me, ‘We’re going to take care of you. Don’t worry about it. We’re here for you,’” Laurino said.

Relief for the Business and Its Employees

Laurino explained that his employees would continue to be paid the same, and that the financial support would take a significant amount of stress off his shoulders.

At the time, he said he was not yet sure how much money Phil’s Pizza would receive from the fund.

Other businesses that have received assistance from the Barstool Fund have been awarded thousands of dollars to help them stay open.
